WELCOME ! First, this is NOT an official Duck Dynasty or Phil Robertson website, nor am I am affiliated with the Duck Dynasty family or A&E. I am just an observer of all things related, most recently, to Phil & the Duck Dynasty. In general I am in agreement with Phil & family & their  Christian faith & convictions , even if I might say things in different ways. In general, I am also conservative in my political convictions. I also agree that Christians should not engage in homosexual sexual activity, and that it is contrary to God's will for His people. I should note, however, that, in my mind,  I used to envision homosexuals in various forms of outlandish sexual activity and be repulsed by it, and visions of Sodom & Gomorrah would infiltrate my mind, etc.  

 However, I became aware that there are also "homosexuals" who simply live together as close friends but do not engage in homosexual activity and so this is a different category of "homosexual" and may not even qualify as homosexual at all for that matter, but they are often included and in this regard I feel we should be less condemning, if at all, of their lifestyle. In some cases, a boy or girl had a difficult childhood and for whatever reason they have never been able to establish quality friendship that leads to intimacy with the opposite sex; or in other cases because of societal changes it has become more difficult to establish such intimacy. Thus they settle for a good friendship with somebody of the same gender but don't actually engage in the sexual activity that many of us Christians envision when we think of "gay marriage." IN fact, speaking for myself, although I am very much heterosexual and attracted to women, I am not married, and for many years, although I had brief relationships with various women, I often spent much time just hanging out with male friends, and of course as a Christian it was frowned upon to have a opposite-gender roommate or to have non-marital sexual activity. Thus, I tried to be a "good Christian" and not get sexually involved too young and regret it later, and therefore it was "safer" to hang out with male friends most of the time.  

However, I became aware at some point that there were people gossiping even amongst some of my Christian community that "maybe he's gay" etc. because I had a few close male friends that I hung around with a lot of the time. The TRUTH is I was NEVER gay and never had homosexual sex with anybody nor desired to, but hung around with male friends for the reasons mentioned. And it hurts my sense of  manhood to think that anybody would insinuate me being anything but heterosexual, albeit at this point in life I am heterosexual but celibate for some time now. 
But because of this I think we should be considerate of those so-called "homosexuals" or "gays" that are together more simply just for friendship rather than any sort of sexual activity. And of course the sin of homosexuality is but one of many sins. What we cannot afford to do however is give in to pressure to say that homosexual sex  is NOT a sin. It IS a sin just like many other sins that Phil Robertson mentioned in GQ magazine (ie slander, bestiality, etc), but let's try to be cognizant of the "different categories" of homosexuality, some of which technically probably should not be included in such category at all.

This blog is devoted to the issues that have arisen because of the recent interview of Phil Robertson in GQ magazine. I will be posting links to various articles etc.
